“The Dustronomist” è il primo album strumentale di Dee Jay Park, DJ e turntablist triestino al suo esordio in veste di produttore. Il titolo è un richiamo alle atmosfere notturne e spaziali presenti nei brani e definisce anche un produttore capace di combinare e collegare elementi che appartengono a mondi completamente diversi tra loro.

“The Dustronomist” spazia tra trip hop e boom bap dove a farla da padrone sono grossi break di batteria, scratch e tappeti di frammenti sonori.

In quanto turntablist anche lo scratch riveste una parte importante del disco inserendosi sia come strumento solistico che come parte dei tappeti sonori delle tracce (vedi “Way Too Good”).

Le sonorità di “The Dustronomist” vogliono anche essere anche un omaggio al trip hop "mo'waxiano" (riferendosi all'etichetta britannica Mo' Wax - casa, negli anni 90, di artisti come DJ Shadow, Blackalicious, Nigo) - in contrasto con le sonorità proposte dall’artista nei suoi mixtape e mashup ma che svelano un'intricata tela di influenze.
